On 2 June, at 1500 local (UTC+2) I will depart the small town of Douarnenez for a 220 nm solo race called the Trophée Marie-Agnès Péron (MAP). As we sail west out of the Douarnenez Bay, the fleet will pass by the infamous Pointe du Raz (live webcam here: https://youtu.be/r7w9vNhbwbM) and head south east towards southern Bretagne. The route loops back, leaving the Île de Sein (near Pointe du Raz) to starboard and finishes back off the coast of Douarnenez. The forecast is calling for light winds throughout the race, making for a challenging 220nm.

This race was created to honor the memory of Marie-Agnès Péron, a competitor lost at sea during the 1991 Mini-Transat. She was lost at sea during a strong gale in the Bay of Biscay.
