Peter has finished the Mini Transat Race!
Peter has crossed the finish line of the 24th edition of the Mini Transat!
With a cumulative time of 30 days 20 hours 55 minutes 25 seconds Peter is among a small number of Americans that have ever completed this race!
Peter crossed the finish line here in Saint François, Guadeloupe yesterday November 16th at 20h’09’22” French time!
It was a beautiful reaching leg to the finish and Peter was flying along at like 9-10 knots surfing down waves in 20 knots of breeze. I was able to go out on the water with the photographer to watch him cross the finish line and write his name in the history books of this epic solo transatlantic race.

We are so proud of Peter and his determination, perseverance and strength to keep pushing forward. He did an incredible job sailing the boat as fast as it would go, squeezing every last bit of speed out of every puff of wind. So much so, that he was able to pass a series boat within the last 24 hours of the race to finish 57th out of 58 boats, coming back from a massive 500nm last place position when he left Cape Verde after his rudder repair.
As Peter walks the pontoons and around town, we continue to run into other Mini sailors. The warm hellos, hugs and high fives are exchanged and then stories of their race are shared. One thing that we keep hearing from each Mini sailor we talk to is what an impressive job Peter did in closing back in on the fleet after his stopover in Cape Verde. They are all happy that he was able to resume racing and that his performance racing to the finish line was inspiring! Surely 57th place out of 58 series boats is not the finish that Peter wanted but it is without a doubt that he has proven to the fleet that he could have crushed the race if not for the technical stopover in Cape Verde.
Keep following the blog posts along as Peter will be completing his AAR (After Action Reports) for the second leg of the Mini Transat. We will also be recording some podcasts to share more about the race. Stay tuned!
